Covisus is honored and humbled to be named a NCMS 2020 MIC Finalist. The Maintenance Innovation Challenge (MIC) is an important venue to present innovative technologies in front of a large cross-section of DOD decision-makers

The MIC aims to elevate and expand the call for maintenance innovation to include not only new technology, hardware, and software but also unique partnerships, resourcing strategies, business practices, or processes that promise to make maintenance more capable, agile, and affordable.

  1. Augmented Reality Remote Maintenance Support Service (ARRMSS)

  6. vTag – ‘Tagless’ Item Level Traceability
    – Submitted by Naresh Menon, Covisus Inc

A vTag® is a ‘virtual tag’. It functions like a tag but without any modifications to the part. Like a human fingerprint or iris scan, a vTag® uses intrinsic surface features of an item to uniquely identify it from all other items of its kind. The intrinsic features of an item are micro-scale roughness, formed randomly during the fabrication of the item. They are well known in the scientific literature1to be completely unique and impossible to replicate. Due to this intrinsic feature the vTag® is a product anti counterfeiting solution because it offers supply chain traceability and authentication. Learn more about vTag® HERE.
